Sending a request from your phone
Sending requests
On a phone, New request opens a version of ChekSign made for a small screen. The larger-screen pages are unchanged; a phone is sent to this version instead of being told to find a computer.
Four steps
- What needs signing: scan paper pages with ChekSign's scanner or your phone's own (see Scanning a paper document), choose a PDF from the phone, start from a template, or carry on with a draft. On Android you can also share a PDF to ChekSign from another app.
- Who signs: add people from your contacts or as a new person. From contacts opens your whole book with a search at the top; tick several and they join the next step together, and anybody already on the request is shown as already added. Choose each person's identity check, and drag a card by its grip to change the order. People in the same step get their link at the same time.
- Place boxes: choose who the box is for at the top, press Add a box, pick the kind and then tap the page where it goes; tapping the page first works too. Quick start, beside it, puts a signature, their name and the signing date for every signer in the empty space near the bottom of the last page. Drag a box to move it. Undo and Redo in the bar at the bottom take a step back or forward.
- Review and send: who signs what and where, their identity check and who waits for whom, then Send or Save as draft.
When Quick start cannot find room
If the bottom of the last page is full of wording, the boxes are still placed, just above the bottom margin, and the page says so. Check them and drag them clear of the text before you send.
What a phone does not do
On a phone everybody is asked to sign every document. A draft that asks somebody only to view a document, or has a witness, says so when you open it and offers the larger screen, where those choices are made. Nothing is changed by opening it on a phone.
Keeping it for next time
On the review step, tick Save as a template for next time and give it a name. The template keeps the pages, the boxes and who signs in which order, as roles, so the next time you are asked only for each person's name and email address. It never keeps a signature. Saving a template with its boxes is part of Business and above; on another plan the box is switched off and says why.
What still needs a larger screen
Writing or editing a document's wording, and asking somebody only to view a document or to witness a signature, are done on a computer or a tablet. Everything else about sending a request can be done on the phone.
