Scanning a paper document
Sending requests
On a phone, New request offers Scan paper pages. Scan with your camera opens ChekSign's scanner, which photographs each page, finds its edges and straightens it. If you would rather use the scanner already on your phone, it is under Or use your phone's built-in scanner on the same screen.
Scanning with ChekSign
Allow the camera when your phone asks. Put the page on a surface darker than the paper and hold the phone over it until the outline around the page turns green, then tap the large shutter button. The picture flashes and the page count goes up; phones that allow it give a short buzz as well. Then take the next page. If a page came out badly, tap Retake last straight away and take it again.
Auto
Turn on Auto at the top and ChekSign takes each page by itself. Once the outline has stayed steady and sharp for about a second and a half, a ring fills in the middle of the page and the page is taken when it is full. Move the phone away before then to stop it.
After a page is taken, ChekSign waits until you put down a new page, or move the phone away and back, before it takes another, so the same page is never taken twice. Your phone remembers whether Auto is on.
Checking the pages
Tap Done to see the pages as the PDF that will be sent. You can retake a page, adjust its corners, remove it, or drag it by its grip to change the order, and choose the paper size and whether the pages are in colour, grey or black and white. A page that looks blurred is marked, and is kept only if you tick Keep it anyway. Use these pages adds them to a new request and takes you to Who signs.
Using your phone's own scanner instead
On an iPhone, in the Files app, tap the three dots at the top and choose Scan Documents. Hold the phone over each page in turn, then tap Save and pick a folder. You can also scan from Notes: tap the camera, choose Scan Documents, then share the scan and choose Save to Files.
On Android, in Google Drive, tap New (the + button) and choose Scan. Take each page, then tap the tick and save. Drive saves the pages as one PDF.
Back on Scan paper pages, open Or use your phone's built-in scanner, tap Choose a PDF and pick the file you saved. It is added to a new request exactly as any PDF would be.
What people sign
The pages are frozen as they are added to the request, and every signer is shown that PDF. Nothing is changed afterwards, so check them on the review screen, or in your phone's own scanner, before you add them.
