Removing somebody, leaving, and helping with an account
Workspace and users
When somebody stops working with you, take them off the Users page. Their ChekSign login is untouched, and so is every other workspace they belong to. What goes is their access to yours.
Requests they had out
If they still have requests out for signature, you are asked to choose who takes them over before they can be removed. Reminders and replies go to whoever you pick, and the change is recorded on each request so anybody opening one later can see it happened.
Requests they had already finished, and drafts they never sent, stay exactly as they are.
Leaving on your own account
You can leave a workspace yourself, from your own row on the Users page. The same three things apply: the last owner cannot leave, whoever the bill is addressed to cannot leave while a subscription is running, and anything still out for signature has to be handed over first.
Helping with somebody's account
An admin can help a member, and an owner can help anybody. Nobody can set a password, read one, change somebody's email address, or sign in as them. That is true of support as well, and it is not a setting.
What you can do, from the Manage button on their row:
- Send a password reset. The link goes to their own address; you never see it.
- Resend an email confirmation, for somebody who has never confirmed theirs and so cannot sign in at all.
- Reset two-factor sign-in. Owners only, and only when your workspace is the only one they belong to.
The person is emailed whenever one of these is done, saying which workspace did it. If one arrives and you were not expecting it, ring whoever runs that workspace. Each kind can be sent once every fifteen minutes, so a second press does not send a second link.
When a two-factor reset is refused
Two-factor belongs to a person's account rather than to your workspace, so resetting it for somebody who also belongs to another workspace would weaken their sign-in there as well. Where that is the case the product refuses, and the way through belongs to them: one of their own recovery codes, or support.
After a reset they are asked to set two-factor up again the next time they sign in, before they can reach any page here.
Requiring two-factor
An owner can require two-factor sign-in for the whole workspace, under Settings then Security and privacy. Nobody is locked out by it: anybody without it is sent to set it up and then carries on. The Users page shows who has it.
What was done, and by whom
Owners can open History from the Users page. It records every invitation, join, role change, removal, departure, handover, billing transfer and account-help action, with who did it and when. Nothing in it can be edited or deleted.
