Keeping contacts for next time
Contacts
Contacts are the people you send to, kept so the next request to the same person is a few keystrokes rather than a retyped name and address.
What is kept, and what is not
A saved recipient holds a legal name, a preferred name, an email address and, if you have one, a mobile number. The legal name is the one that reaches a certificate.
When the copy is taken, and why it matters
What goes onto a request is a COPY, and it is taken at the moment you ADD the person to that request — not when you send it. So correcting a saved recipient after you have added them to a draft does not reach that draft: remove them and add them again if you need the correction to apply.
Once a request has gone out, nothing you change here reaches it at all, and nothing changes a certificate already issued — those name the person as they were named when they were asked, which is the whole point of taking a copy.
